Folk Medicine: Bone Broth Class

Ancient people began making and drinking bone hundreds of years ago, and it remains a staple in the diets of people in Asian and European countries today.

This wonder food is key in achieving optimal health. It is full of vital minerals and vitamins and amazing for detoxification, healing leaky gut, improving sleeping, keeping hair, skin, and nails lustrous, reducing joint pain and inflammation, and boosting the immune system. The best part is…it’s delicious!

Sourcing a high-quality bone broth commercially can be difficult and pricey. Homemade bone broth is the best (and most economical!) way to maintain maximum nutrient density and flavor.

Let me teach you all the secrets to making an amazing, nourishing broth to see you through the autumn and winter. You will leave with your first batch of the best quality bone broth ready to go, plus all the info you need to recreate it!

Limited space available—call or come by the shop to purchase your spot. Cost is $30.

*Participants will need to bring the basin to their slow cooker (preferred) or a large stock pot.

Intro to Belgian Beer Workshop

Belgians claim over 400 unique styles of beer. The beer mecca of the world has been brewing beer for centuries, and you'll find a more refined, nuanced, and meticulously crafted beer nowhere else in the world.

In this course we'll discuss and sample farmhouse ales, whites, dubbels, tripels, quadrupels, and darks. We'll learn the history of Belgian beer and the celebrated hero of all beer: yeast. (Hops may be the star of great American beer, but yeast is the magic that makes all beer, beer!)

This course includes 6 pours of some of the best Belgian style beer available this side of the Atlantic AND a classic Vittles meal.  $30 with very limited seating.

Folk Medicine: Fire Cider Making Workshop

Fire Cider is a tried and true folk remedy for a variety of ailments including digestive discomfort/nausea, headaches, and sinus congestion, but it is most famous as an immune booster when cold season hits.

It's traditionally made with heavy hitters like horseradish, garlic, and peppers. There are many variations and recipes, but ours includes some special ingredients like rosehips and cloves. The fresh ingredients are infused with apple cider vinegar to harness the plant constituents, then strained and mixed with honey for a very powerful tonic. The steeping process takes up to six weeks, so NOW is the time to get yours going.

Attendees will make their own half gallon batch of this traditional remedy and learn how to use it most effectively. Snacks and wine provided! The cost is $45 with limited space available--get in touch to reserve your spot!
